We have two volunteering programs at the House you can become involved in. Whether you’re a corporate team or community group, you will leave Ronald McDonald House Randwick feeling involved, inspired and motivated.

Make A Meal Program

The Make A Meal program runs every week of the year and provides groups with a wonderful opportunity to engage with families and children staying at the House. Designed for a group of ten, each group purchases and provides their chosen menu prior to their arrival. Dress up, decorate the dining room, theme your experience how you wish.

This program provides a much-needed service to families who are supporting their sick children and often don’t have the time, funds or the energy to prepare a healthy, home-cooked meal. Our volunteering Make A Meal Program creates a positive environment fostering teamwork and camaraderie.

Groups wishing to take part will be asked to make a financial contribution to assist with the running of the house and asked to cover the costs of ingredients.

Working Bee Program

Our Working Bees are held at the House every second Thursday of the month (9.30am-1.30pm). Designed for a group of ten people, they involve cleaning, tidying, sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, dusting and basic maintenance of the House. We supply all of the cleaning equipment; you simply supply the elbow grease.

This program provides a much-needed service to maintain our home away from home for the families who stay with us, in addition to the daily tasks managed by our staff and volunteers.

Groups wishing to take part will be asked to make a financial contribution to assist with the running of the house.

Would you like to be a regular volunteer?

While we are part of a national charity, our strength derives from our connection to the community at a grassroots level. Our dedicated team of 140 volunteers at the House and across two Ronald McDonald Family Rooms at Sydney Children’s Hospital and Royal North Shore Hospital, are the lifeblood of our organization. They are our ambassadors, helping to maintain a warm and homely environment for the families and seriously ill children whom we support.

If you would like to volunteer with us, fill out the form below and our Volunteer Coordinator will contact you.
